Navigating the Architectural Glass Price Increase: What You Need to Know
To Our Valued Customers and Partners,
In the ever-evolving landscape of the construction and architectural industries, fluctuations in material costs are inevitable. Recently, we have received formal notification from our flat glass manufacturers regarding an impending price increase on glass products. This change, effective November 1st, 2020, reflects broader market trends and economic pressures that have impacted the supply chain globally.
Why Are Prices Increasing?
The announced price adjustments, ranging from 8% to 13%, are attributed to several key factors:
-
Cost Escalation: The production of glass materials has become more expensive due to rising costs of raw materials and energy consumption, which directly influence manufacturing expenses.
-
Unstable Labor Market: An increasingly dynamic and unstable labor environment has compounded challenges, leading to higher operational costs across the supply chain.
-
Supply Chain Disruptions: Ongoing logistical hurdles have created delays and shortages, making it more difficult and expensive to source and deliver high-quality glass products on time.
What Products Are Affected?
To better align with these industry-wide changes, we will adjust our pricing for specific glass categories as follows:
- 12% Increase for ≤6mm Thin Monolithic Glass Products
- 12% Increase for Insulating and Laminated Glass Products
- 8% Increase for ≥8mm Heavy Monolithic Glass Products
- 8% Increase for All Other Products/Services
These adjustments will take effect for all orders placed on or after November 9th, 2020.
